21 Aug Cassie & Mike’s Wedding
I met Cassie when we were almost next door neighbours in our early 20s. I stayed in touch with Cassie over the years and eventually I met her new handsome man, Mike. Since starting my photography journey, I have photographed them multiple times, first as a couple, then for maternity portraits, and most recently for wedding portraits. We joke that we always get together at her big milestones. Honestly, it is a big compliment to be chosen as someone’s go to photographer. Mike and Cassie are super gorgeous people so photographing them is a breeze. Also, they are very laid back which always results in a much more fun atmosphere when we work together.
Cassie and Mike had already eloped before their formal wedding day, which they held back home in Casselman, Ontario. They asked me to take formal portraits of themselves together and with family, and some additional portraits with a champagne tower back at the restaurant they had reserved for the night. We started with some portraits at Mike’s mother’s house. She had setup an elaborate arrangement of beautiful white flowers and greenery around the fireplace. It was a super quick drop-in spot before we moved on to our outdoor location.
Originally, they had planned to do a shoot with a cool vintage convertible sports car, but with an unfortunate forecast of rain, the plan switched to using Mike’s motorcycle instead. The rain held out after all, and I think the motorcycle was a great idea! Not only because the bike belongs to Mike, but Cassie told me he had also completely remodelled it recently himself. To them, this added more meaning to the vehicle than just it’s cool appearance. Check out the incredible shots we got!
After the formal couple’s portraits with the motorcycle, their son Jaxson arrived to join in for some family photos. He is so cute!
Here are the family and friends portraits.
And for the grand finale, the Champagne tower portraits.
I wish Cassie and Mike a beautiful life together. I look forward to Cassie’s next big milestone and I’ll be there with my camera!
