21 May A Night to Remember Afghanistan 2023 Fundraiser
I had the absolute privilege of photographing a beautiful Afghanistan fundraising event. I got to meet some incredible people, enjoy some delicious food, learn more about the Afghan culture and world issues at large. This event was created and organized by The Afghan Canadian Support Network (ACSN) and they did a wonderful job! Here are some of the portraits and photos I took from this event.
Walking into the event, I got to meet Mushfiq who is an incredibly talented musician and intelligent man. In the short time of meeting him, I learned that he spoke 7 languages, owns school for music school and is also a visual artist. He also runs an B&B. I also got to enjoy his music throughout the night.
I arrived early which allowed me to capture some portraits of the other early birds while they were sitting around tables. Everyone was so friendly.
The event started off with violinist, Ursula Shcultz, playing the Canadian national anthem. She’s incredible!
Above is musician Matthieu Poitras. His performance was amazing and I got to chat with him for a little bit before the event and he is super nice too.
