09 Apr Use Tulle Fabric to add Drama to your Portraits
A simple way to make your portraits more dramatic is to add tulle fabric to the look. As a portrait photographer, I have a bin full of different colours of tulle fabric that I can grab for when I feel like being fancy. The texture of the fabric is so beautiful. I could try to explain this in words or I can show you through portraits with Kasandra I did a few weeks ago.
My examples show studio portraits but you can also bring tulle fabric to your next outdoor shoot. Many fashion photographers make tulle skirts. If you are crafty and are sewing savvy you can totally make one too. There are many videos on YouTube on how to do this.
As you can see tulle looks amazing in black and white photos as well as colour. It is also fun to be wild and throw in two different coloured fabrics together. I hope this inspires you to be creative and have fun at your next photoshoot. Big thank you to Kasandra who is a fabulous model in Ottawa. She is worth checking out.
