27 Dec 1960’s Fashion with Bhavna
If there is one era that I can’t help but going back to over and over again it’s the 1960’s. I routinely go to thrift stores to find cute outfits (and be inspired) and I am always drawn to greens and vintage fashioned clothing. Here’s a shoot I did recently with a local model, Bhavna.
Above are the close up beauty shots I got from this session. This is the perfect opportunity to credit my amazing hair and makeup artist, Fatima Abeduljalil, who I work with regularly. She created a hair style that would work beautifully with the scarf and without. That’s thinking ahead! I shared with her the main outfit (the green look) and she came up with this makeup creation for Bhavna! Fatima is so talented! I used paramount lighting (a lighting setup that was used a lot in the 60s in old Hollywood portraits). I am very happy with the results.
This was my very first shoot with Bhavna and I loved working with her. She had fun on set, had great expressions and had lots of suggestions with posing. She was opened minded as well. The green dress is a size medium which I purchased at Value village. I knew it would be too big for her but too big is always better than too small. We used my big photography clamps to make the dress appeared that it fit. I had a lot of fun putting this outfit together. I have got to say, it’s so much fun seeing your vision come to life and I couldn’t have picked a better team.
